Day 4 of filming

The final day of filming was probably the most inconvinent in terms of getting to the location, but in contrast was the easiest to film. we wanted a more "unplanned" feel to the overall filming so it involved more natural and shaky shots as it was in the woods.  It involved getting creative and muddy as one of our main characters was dragged in the mud. We also filmed in peak time to ensure the best lighting. We incorperated some panning shots and walking shots as if i was following them, this particular time we filmed was a little interesting as we filming some happy scenes of them together but also some dark and sisinster shots creating a binary opposite.

Day 3 of filming

Fortunately, we are ahead of filming now so we are able to take it easy, the deadline is in a couple of weeks so we have enough time to edit. Today we shot in new locations in the innocent party's house. We had to film a lot of the same shots on this occasion in order to be able to overlay the sound and create a distressed scene. A lot of screaming and violence was involved so obviously, the Neighbour's had to be informed to avoid any awkward encounters from misunderstandings. Again we had some easy shots when filming the red candle to link with the M.E.S from the main character house, but we wanted a more calming and picturesque shot to lighten the mood.

Day 2 of filming

The second day of films was a little easier, we had less to time film now and the pressure was considerable less. we only had a couple of shots to get. Thes included the bed scene when she wakes up and applies her makeup. However, these shots were a little different to the ones we shot previously as we were going for a more creepy and sinister look. So we had to incorporate some more unnatural lighting in combination with the natural light we had. With these shots, we only had a couple of chances to get it right as we were dealing with red lipstick and quite a lot of makeup, so to ensure the audience couldn't tell we had taken too many shots we had to get it right to get the best continuity. Along with some more simple still shots of the record player, it was a very successful day filming.

See you tomorrow

Day 1 of filming

The first day was a little challenging deciding exactly where we needed everyone and what shots we were going to use of course we was safe and started filming a couple of second prior to actually starting the scene. But on this particular day, we film the fight scene, the loving scene, and a couple more filler shots to set the scene. Of course the problem with filming a lot in one go was we wasn't forced to actually achieve the shots we intended and of course this was the case so, finally, after reshooting and making tweaks to the M.E.S we finally bagged the high-quality shots we set out to get.

Case study information and the context behind it

In order to fully understand the depth of filmmaking as a part of our case study we have to research what really makes a British film, and the answer is a multitude of things. Mainly it's based on the Cultural Test from the BFI. So from this information, we are able to put the test to our thriller and see if being classed as a British film is easy as it sounds.

The powerpoint also includes some other interesting facts, from FILM 4  and warner bros, as there is controversy surrounding them and the cultural test.
